Special Event: Historic Barn Tour

This summer, Tallgrass to Knee High: A Century of Iowa Farming, not only offers a unique exhibit in the Quarton Gallery, but several interesting and fun events for the whole family to participate in! Some are included with paid museum admission, and some may require advance registration due to space limitations, so check with the library or contact provided in advance to ensure your reservation!

Aug. 11, Special Event: Historic Barn Tour, led by Michael Zhas and Loren Horton

Cost: $90 per person
Begins at 8 a.m.

Two leading historians of Iowa’s past lead this tour through areas of Johnson and Washington Counties highlighting Old Order Amish farms and businesses.  Dress casually with comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground.  Lunch and dinner meals are included in the cost but bring cash or checks for purchases at gift shops or water (you may bring your own water bottle).

The bus leaves Hoover Presidential Library at 8:00 a.m. and returns around 7 p.m. Please be on-site and reaady to go by 7:45.
